12 Tags of 2014- August

I really enjoyed making this month's tag. I love the rust technique, never would have thought that embossing powder could create this sort of look. Lot of Tim Holtz goodness used on this tag.

Steampunk chest of drawers

I made this chest using the Sizzix Candy drawer die by stacking 4 of the drawers together and then gluing chipboard around the sides. The drawers were decorated using the painted industrial technique with Tim Holtz diamond plate and Subway embossing folders and finished off with Tim Holtz Faucet knobs. The handle on top is from the Tim Holtz hardware findings die. I am entering this in to the Compendium of Curiosities challenge sponsored by Inspiration emporium http://www.inspirationemporium.com/

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 5

This challenge involved using distress inks as watercolors. I used the 12 Tags of 2014 June technique for the background using Tim Holtz layering stencils. I also used the mini blueprints stamp set which is where the water coloring came in, Tim Holtz Wall clock die, Tim Holtz arrow sticker, TH embellishments, inks, stains, and ribbon. A shout out to Inspiration Emporium for sponsoring this week's challenge!

12 tags of 2014- June

I had a lot of fun with this technique, using the layering stencils and inks in kind of a reverse stenciling way was something I would have never thought to do. So here is my entry for this month's tag.

Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge 1

I used lot of Tim Holtz goodies for the first challenge which involves distress paint marbling. After I made the marbled background, I tool a TH layering stencil and did some bubbles on the background. I then stamped the seahorse from the Sea and Sand stamp set twice (once on the tag and again on a plain white piece of paper.) For the one of the white paper, I used an ink blending tool for the coloring with blue distress inks and then stickled the little guy with clear rock candy stickles and then used some pop dots to adhere him to the tag. A thanks goes out to Inspiration Emporium for sponsoring the challenge.
